FINN Partners Calls for Shared Action on Brain Health in New eBook

Published on World Alzheimer’s Day, the collection connects scientific advances with the decisions shaping patient care, public policy and the future of work
NEW YORK, Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The ability to learn, earn a living and remain independent rests on brain health. Protecting those abilities requires action well beyond the clinic. As leaders gather in New York for the United Nations General Assembly, FINN Partners is releasing The Next Frontier in Brain Health, a new eBook exploring how global advances in science can reach people through better care, communication and attention to brain health throughout the lifespan.

Published on World Alzheimer’s Day, the collection examines what stands between scientific promise and everyday progress. According to the World Health Organization, nearly 10 million people develop dementia each year worldwide. Delayed diagnoses and fragmented patient journeys leave families navigating uncertainty. Complex scientific information can make new options difficult to understand, while prevention and lifelong cognitive well-being need greater attention across health care, education and the workplace.
“The science of brain health is opening new possibilities to protect cognitive function and help people thrive at every stage of life,” said Richard Hatzfeld, editor of the collection and Senior Partner and global lead for FINN Global Health Practice brain health initiatives. “Delivering on that promise requires us to connect expertise that too often remains separate. This eBook brings together perspectives from across the FINN global community to help clients explain the science, address barriers to care and make brain health part of workplace and public policy decisions,” he added.
The collection also examines how work environments and artificial intelligence are changing the demands on human cognition. As organizations adopt new technologies, leaders must consider how people learn, adapt and sustain their ability to contribute. These essays bring brain health into that conversation, connecting workforce readiness with the conditions that support cognitive well-being.
“Brain health belongs on the agenda wherever leaders make decisions about people, whether in health care, government or the workplace,” said Gil Bashe, Chair Global Health and Purpose at FINN Partners. “Those decisions shape whether people receive help early, whether families understand their options and whether workplaces support brain health. Communication is care when it makes knowledge useful to the people who need it. This collection calls on leaders to connect what science is teaching us with what people need to live well.”
The eBook brings together FINN colleagues examining brain health across different regions. Essays explore the connections between brain health, education and economic resilience in Africa, innovations emerging from Israel and efforts in Asia to prepare people for changing workforce demands. Across these perspectives, contributors examine how clearer communication can help people understand scientific advances, seek care and protect brain health throughout life.
Edited by Richard Hatzfeld, the collection includes contributions from Aman Gupta, Carrie Young, Christina Chu, Christopher Nial, Ellie Hanson, Mark Chataway, Sharon Quntai, Stephanie Seiler and Gil Bashe.
The release coincides with the Concordia Annual Summit, Global Brain Economy Summit and Brain Days at UNGA81. From September 21-24, these gatherings will bring together policymakers, scientists, innovators, patient advocates and funders to explore brain health and its implications for society and the economy. The eBook contributes to those discussions by examining how research can inform decisions about care, investment and the environments in which people live and work.
