The North American Sustainable Refrigeration Council (NASRC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to facilitate the transition to natural refrigerants, concluded the 2025-26 season of the Natural Refrigerant Training Summit series, introducing expanded courses, hands-on learning opportunities and new experiences.
The season convened 1,756 participants, 1,079 technicians who received 8,866 hours of training, and 267 students who participated in the events’ career fair programming. The lineup included events in Stockton, Concord and Irwindale, California; St. Louis, Missouri; and Poughkeepsie, New York—the series’ debut in the Empire State.
“The program’s continued growth demonstrates how eager the industry is for practical, hands-on education and collaboration,” said Danielle Wright, NASRC executive director. “From launching new training experiences to bringing the Summit to New York, we’re proud to continue expanding access to workforce development opportunities to prepare technicians and industry stakeholders for the future of sustainable refrigeration.”
In addition to the training events, the 2025-26 season featured several milestones, including the program’s first transcritical CO2 booster system startup workshop, the industry’s first showcase dedicated entirely to CO2 remote condensing units (RCUs) with 96% of attendees reporting an improvement in their CO2 knowledge. Expanded curriculum was also featured through a new industrial learning track.
The 2025-26 season was free for technicians thanks to the generous support of Elite Sponsors Albertsons, Amazon, BITZER US, Costco, Kroger and Walmart.
The California events were supported by funding from the California Air Resources Board’s F-gas Reduction Incentive Program. The New York event was supported by funding from the New York State Environmental Protection Fund, administered by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
NASRC plans additional training and student networking events nationwide. Organizations interested in hosting or sponsoring future events can contact info@nasrc.org.
